Titleist 910 D3 Driver Review

The Titleist 910 D3 Driver offers the same advanced evolutionary  technology that offers increased distance, accuracy and shot control which is used in the Titleist 910 D2 Driver model, but has been specifically designed for the more serious golfers out there.

The main differences are that the Titleist 910 D3 Driver has a smaller clubhead at 445cc compared to the maximum 460cc of the 910 D2 Driver.  It also has a slightly deeper face to provide additional control of trajectory and shot shaping.

Already tried and tested on Tour the 910 D3 Driver is going to be a big hit amongst the more highly skilled golfers by offering the essential ingredients of speed and stability that is demanded by the better players.

By introducing their unique 'fast face insert design', Titleist are able to increase the effective hitting area on the driver face by up to 15% when compared to the previous Titleist 909 Drivers.

This increased sweet spot provides golfers with the potential for greater distance. They have also optimized the weight distribution in the Titleist 910 D3 Driver, with a brand new head design and bezel weight at the rear end of the clubhead.

This weight distribution lowers the center of gravity and moves it deeper back in the clubhead, which helps to improve stability by stopping the clubhead from twisting as much at the moment of contact, especially on those off center hits, to give golfers more accuracy and control off of the tee.

As well as including 'fast face insert design' and optimizing weight distribution, Titleist have also introduced their patented SureFit Tour technology into the Titleist 910 D3 Driver, like they have with the  Titleist 910 D2 Driver.

This unique evolutionary technology provides golfers with the opportunity to tailor the drivers performance to match their own swing style by allowing them to individually adjust the loft and lie angle.

A powerful accolade supporting the new Titleist 910 Driver comes from the Worldwide Professional Tour itself, with over 100 players transferring over to the new Titleist 910 Drivers within a couple of months of the seeding process. Within that time they have already amassed a combined total of 8 Tour victories!

Titleist 910 D2 Driver Review

Finally the latest Titleist 910 D2 Drivers and D3 Drivers have arrived, which is great news for golfers who are looking to improve their overall driving performance by increasing distance, accuracy and control off of the tee.

Titleist have one goal in mind when they create their new products, which is to utilize the very latest technologies and produce a new design that offers golfers an improved level of performance to that of its previous generation, which in the case of the Titleist 910 D2 Driver and D3 Driver was the Titleist 909 Driver series.

By using the latest evolutionary technologies Titleist have introduced a driver that offers golfers the essential ingredients they are all craving which are Speed for greater distance potential and Stability for accuracy and control.

Titleist 910 D2 Driver Advanced Technologies

Patented SureFit Tour Technology – this is what really sets the new 910 drivers apart from the crowd. The patented SureFit Tour Technology offers golfers the ability to independently set the loft and lie angles on the clubhead, with up to 16 different combinations.

This dual-angle hosel technology enables you to optimize both the launch trajectory and the shape of your drives. There are other new models out there that offer excellent directional control by using adjustable face angle technology but none seem to offer the opportunity to effectively adjust the launch angle independently.

Fast Face Insert Technology – using this technology the Titleist 910 D2 Driver maximizes ball speed by increasing the effective hitting area by up to 15% on the previous models. They achieve this by varying the thickness across the entire clubface so that there is a thicker central portion that is equidistant from all points of the face perimeter.

Otimized Weight Distribution - Titleist have also optimized weight distribution by lowering the driver's center of gravity and moving it further back in the clubhead. They have done this through thinning the crown of the cludhead by 17%, and creating a more sloped rear crown profile.

They have also included a new swing weight screw located more towards the back end of the clubhead sole. This helps to create more stability, for better direction control, as there is less clubhead twisting at the moment of impact.

The main difference between the Titleist 910 D2 Driver and the Titleist 910 D3 Driver is that the 910 D2 Driver has a larger clubhead at 460cc which offers more forgiveness, and the 910 D3 Driver has a smaller clubhead at 445cc with a slightly deeper face, which offers additional shot and trajectory control (probably more suited to the highly skilled golfers out there).

Callaway FT-9 Driver Review

Callaway engineers have used the latest evolutionary Fusion Technology to help create the new Callaway FT-9 Driver

The FT-9 offers golfers a combination of distance, versatility and control, providing the potential to hit longer, straighter and more precise drives than ever before, even with those miss-hit strikes.

The fusion design and construction of the Callaway FT-9 Driver with its Titanium cup face and carbon composite body perfectly positions the center of gravity in order to maximize stability.

This along with the Hyperbolic Face Technology helps to increase ball speeds across the entire clubface for maximum stability and distance.

But the icing on the cake comes with the exciting addition of their OptiFit weighting system in the Callaway FT-9 Driver. This gives golfers a choice of 2 center of gravity locations to help match your natural swing type.

Evolutionary Carbon Composite Material - The main purpose of the carbon composite material (finely woven strands of individual carbon fibers, combined with an epoxy resin), used in the body of the Callaway FT-9 Driver, is to reposition the weight into areas of the clubhead where it is required the most, so that it optimizes the moment of inertia and center of gravity.

Callaway use a tool which is shaped like the body of the FT-9 Driver to mould the carbon composite material, and then add weights to build clubheads which favor either a draw, neutral or fade position, and finally heat the materials to fuse them together. This creates a clubhead with a strongly weighted perimeter and one that will maximize distance and accuracy off of the tee.

Hyperbolic Face Technology - The main benefit of the hyperbolic face technology on the Callaway FT-9 Driver is to increase ball speeds across the entire clubface. By using a special chemical acid reduction process Callaway are able to remove all of the unwanted material on the cup face to create varying precision thickness which dramatically increases the sweet spot and improves impact efficiency.

With a much larger sweet spot, golfers are able to generate much higher ball speeds across the entire club face. Which in turn will give you significant gains in length from those off-center hits, and less disparity in distance between the balls you hit out of the center and the balls you don't.

OptiFit Weighting System - This new technology allows golfers to customize their drivers by setting the center of gravity locations in either the 'draw' or 'neutral' position. The 'draw' position helps to promote a draw shape of shot and will reduce the effects of a slice or fade, if that's what you suffer from, and the 'neutral' position offers maximum workability.

Callaway have also positioned the web weighting on the exterior of the clubhead, giving you the opportunity to position the weights so that they match up with your swing type, which will result in longer and more accurate drives with every swing you make with the FT-9 Driver.

Callaway Diablo Edge Driver Review

The new high performance Callaway Diablo Edge Driver not only looks great but also utilizes the very latest cutting edge design and technology to provide you with both maximum driving distance and accuracy off of the tee.

Made from Titanium, the Callaway Diablo Edge Driver is constructed from a special 4 piece design that fuses together the main components of the cup face, crown, sole and internal weight. This special construction design enables Callaway engineers to create a lower and deeper center of gravity and a higher moment of inertia, which results in a smoother more balanced golf swing and a longer penetrating ball flight.

They have also used a special chemically milled hyperbolic acid reduction process on the face cup to increase the effective hitting area (sweet spot) on the Callaway Diablo Edge Driver. This process enables Callaway to accurately distribute the weight across the clubface by varying the thickness in the required places. This larger sweet spot means more distance off of the tee on those off center drives, as ball speed will not be affected or reduced as much.

Callaway have also managed to reduce the drag on the downswing of the Diablo Edge Driver by up to 8%, using an aerodynamic body design that optimizes all edge transitions. This will give you greater clubhead speed at the moment of impact and consequently more distance off the tee.

To help improve feel and performance, Callaway have introduced their S2H2 technology which shortens the hosel and allows the tip of the shaft to move down towards the sole of the club. This also repositions the weight in the perimeter of the golf club for more stability. Having the shaft tip nearer the center of the clubface on the Callaway Diablo Edge Driver will give you superior feel and control over your drives.

The Callaway Diablo Edge Driver has an Aldila Habanero High Performance Graphite Shaft that provides incredible feel and performance and is available for both right and left handed golfers in varying lofts.

Callaway have also produced another version of the Diablo Edge Driver called the Callaway Diablo Edge Tour Driver, which has been specifically designed for highly skilled golfers. The main difference between the 2 is that the Tour version has a full length hosel, less face progression and an optimized center of gravity.

Nike SQ Machspeed Black Driver Review

The new Nike SQ Machspeed Black Driver is the latest Nike Driver technology to hit the market place and is due out at the end of November 2010. This stunning looking driver is surely going to take the golfing world by storm and is the next generation and upgraded version of the already popular Nike SQ Machspeed Driver.

By taking the art and science of aerodynamics and club head adjustment technology to a whole new level, Nike have managed to produce a driver which is specifically designed for Distance and Control.

The face of the club head is slightly taller with the SQ Machspeed Black Driver, compared to the previous version, and the crown tapers more quickly, which helps to increase forgiveness. The club head also produces a lower ball flight and a lower spin rate to help generate maximum distance.

The new ‘Total Swing Aerodynamic Design’ in the Nike SQ Machspeed Black Driver focuses on maximizing ball speed, which enables golfers to achieve greater distance off of the tee. Nike have achieved this by introducing their new ‘PowerBow’ design and sole diffuser, which help to significantly reduce drag caused by wind resistance.

The Nike SQ Machspeed Black Driver also benefits from Nike’s patented STR8-FIT Technology, which gives golfers the ability to adjust the position of the club head so that it perfectly matches the swing style.

There are 8 settings to choose from, ranging from 2 degrees open to 2 degrees closed. So if you are suffering from a slice or hook you can simply change the club head setting to a more closed or open position and neutralize its effects.

The new Nike SQ Machspeed Black Drivers come in two models, both with a 460cc sleek black profile club head and both use the state of the art driver technology introduced by Nike, but one has a square head shape, while the other has a round one.

The square head version offers golfers a little more forgiveness for greater consistency, while the round version offers a little bit more workability for increased shot shaping (ideal for the lower handicap golfers).
