Callaway RAZR Hawk Golf Driver Review

Designed for ultimate precision and maximum distance the new Callaway RAZR Hawk Golf Driver has been developed using some of the most advanced technology ever created, and is certainly up there with the best golf drivers for 2011.

The main enhancement that really sets the RAZR Hawk Driver apart from the rest of the field, is the introduction of their revolutionary new material, that they co-developed in partnership with giant car manufacturers Lamborghini, called ‘Forged Composite’.

Forged Composite is a brand new form of material that is much lighter, stronger and is one third the density of Titanium and features a greater load carrying capacity per unit mass in bending. This technology in combination with their breakthrough Hyperbolic Face Technology, which improves the efficiency of the club face walls by accurately and precisely varying the thickness of the entire club face, gives you a driver that not only offers maximum distance but also gives you a much larger effective hitting area (sweet spot) to provide ultimate forgiveness, especially on those off-center hits.

Callaway have also improved the aerodynamics of the RAZR Hawk golf driver, to further increase impact speeds and optimize distance potential. By introducing their RAZR Weighting System, Callaway have been able to produce 2 versions of the RAZR Hawk Golf Driver.  One with a neutral weighting bias for those golfers who already hit the ball fairly straight or with a slight draw, and one with a draw weighting bias to help those golfers out there hit the ball straighter, if they currently fade the ball or are looking to cure any golf slicing issues.

TaylorMade R11 Driver Review

Finally the new Taylormade R11 Golf Driver has arrived with its unique design and ground-breaking technological enhancements. 

This is the new and improved version of the already popular and highly successful 2010 Taylormade R9 driver, and will not disappoint the thousands of eagerly awaiting customers.

One of the most glaringly obvious and perhaps somewhat confusing things that you will notice about the R11 driver to start with is that it has a white crown! 

However, once the initial surprise wears off you will probably begin to like and respect it, especially when you understand the couple of plausible reasons behind this unique design element.

Firstly, the perfect contrast effect of the white crown against the black cup face make it one of the easiest drivers to align correctly, and secondly it helps to improve your visibility and concentration levels by reducing the effects of hotspots and glare.

Along with perfecting the aerodynamics of the R11 to help increase clubhead speeds, Taylormade believe that there are a further 3 essential adjustments that golfers need to make to enable them to optimize their potential golf driving distance These 3 adjustments they are referring to are the launch angel, face angel and ball flight path.

The ground-breaking adjustable technologies used in the new Taylormade R11 golf driver focus on exactly these 3 elements, and give you the opportunity to match these setting with up to 48 different combinations, so that they perfectly match your individual swing style, making it the most customizable drivers ever created.

The first technology which enables you to increase or decrease the launch angel of the R11 driver by 1 degree is called ‘Flight Control Technology’ (FCT) and has 8 separate settings, which can be adjusted in 0.5 degree increments.

The second technology is the ‘Adjustable Sole Plate’ (ASP) which enables you to adjust the face angel. You can choose from 3 settings, which will allow you to either open or close the club face by 2 degrees, or leave it in the neutral position.

Finally the Taylormade R11 Golf Driver has 2 separate weights, one that weighs 10g and the other 1g. These weights are secured into the heel and toe ends of the sole of the driver and can be swapped around.

By securing the 10g weight to the heel end and the 1g weight to the toe end of the driver you will be promoting a draw bias ball flight. By securing the 1g weight to the heel end and the 10g weight to the toe end of the driver you will be generating a more neutral ball flight.
